Lunch at Friday's and at Outback
Events
The Associação Saúde Criança Renascer (ASCR) promotes several annual events. It is a form of collecting funds and disseminating the Association's model. It is a quite diversified program. Our guests are invited to lunches, dinners, parties, movie sessions, and theater plays.
There are also the solidarity events, with recreation at Hospital da Lagoa and Parque Lage. These are organized mainly for children. All those who wishes to collaborate in some way are welcome.
The main Renascer fund collecting and disseminating events are
the following:
Lunch at Friday's and at Outback
Every year we hold special lunches, with exclusive menus, in these restaurants. During such lunch parties we draw lots to give out gifts. On the last two events we had the participation of several members, volunteers, and guests.
Theater and movie sessions and premiers
Renascer has partnerships with the cultural circuit of the city of Rio de Janeiro - cinemas and theaters give part of their tickets for special Renascer sales. All the income is invested in ASCR end activities.
Bazaars and Used Clothes Charity Sales
Renascer Charity Sales are conducted thanks to donations of clothes, accessories, shoes, among others, from shops, from individuals, and, in some cases, from artists. New clothes are sold in the Bazaars and in the Used Clothes Sales one can find both old and new things. The entire collection is exhibited and they are open to the public in general.
Chic Party
This party has been happening since 2002 in large hotels in Rio de Janeiro, such as the Copacabana Palace and Sofitel. The voluntary participation of bands, like Kid Abelha and Barão Vermelho, helps in the selling of the tickets and in transforming these parties in major events. This event is open to the public in general.
"It's a great opportunity to collect funds and disseminate Renascer. Besides the fact that we collect considerable sums of money, this event appears in the media - a form of disseminating the Association and its values." - Points out Vânia Lima, ASCR Events Coordinator.
The initial idea of the party came from a project of the Avina Foundation, in which Associação Saúde Criança Renascer took part. For every R$1.00 that Renascer was able to collect in the events, Avina would match with R$1.00 for the project.
McKinsey & Co suggested that we promoted a big annual party
where we could collect the largest amount possible, which would then be matched
by Avina. After the Avina project finished, the party continued to take place.
Parties at Hospital da Lagoa
The solidarity meetings also happen every year and on a specific
date. All kinds of parties are given to the children admitted at the Hospital
da Lagoa: Easter, "Junina", Children's Day, and Christmas. "Collaboration
in the form of toys and clothes, catering and entertainers are welcome. We do
everything we can to bring a little joy to the children and their mothers."
- says Vânia, who is also a volunteer at Hospital da Lagoa and organizes
all the events along with the Hospital team.
